![]() ![]() ![]() They all worked together, killed the dudes, Kerafyrm woke up, and they started fighting, barely doing any damage but doing damage anyway. There was one server left where it hadn't happened for a long time, because it was a PvP server and the 4 dudes dropped really good loot for PvP, so all the guilds agreed not to kill him so they could all keep farming the dudes.Īt some point, the top guilds decided that it was time to try to kill Kerafyrm and see if he dropped any phat loot. This could only happen once per server, ever, and the 4 dudes didn't respawn if he woke up. I always liked the story of the Kerafyrm kill in Everquest.īasically, in EQ, there was a dungeon where you had to kill 4 dudes, and when you killed all 4, Kerafyrm the Sleeper, a giant super-dragon that lore-wise is the most powerful entity in the world, would wake up, kill your raid, and go out and rampage across the world. That one was legitimately pretty fucked up so it didn't get the same coverage as the GHSC. They were "dating" for like a year and a half. ![]() I remember a different one years later where a guy went so far that he started a long-term, long distance relationship with a young woman specifically to get into a position of trust so he could ruin her Corp and steal a bunch of shit. The GHSC incident had a somewhat psychotic flavor without being too over the top or just sad, which is why it made the news. As far as I know, none of them still played when I tried to track them down out of morbid curiosity in ~2007. The target Corp made several attempts to recover, but their community completely broke down and dissolved. He spent ten months playing with them in teamspeak every single day to worm his way in. An assassination which was carried out by her trusted second-in-command who had socially engineered his way into that position specifically for that one kill. They also manipulated the leader into undocking an incredibly, irreplaceably rare, limited edition ship as a "show of force" in order to inflict maximum damage during her assassination. Several GHSC agents spent nearly a full year infiltrating their target Corp, befriending them, and earning their trust before they destroyed them utterly from the inside in a matter of minutes. However, the most famous incident and the one you're most likely thinking of was the Guiding Hand Social Club incident in 2005. Hundreds if not thousands of times at this point. The Eve betrayal where IIRC some guy got really high rank by playing undercover in an enemy organization for years (?) and then got access to their bank account and sold/stole everything from them. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
